RR (8,4,2): Fedora (part 2)

I tried the Live CD again, and I'm currently typing this post in the Fedora live environment.

As before, some characters got chopped off at the left and top sides. Notably, 'f' looks like 't', if not for the curve at the bottom, 'i' and 'j' don't have a tittle and '7' can look like a slash.

I have only 2 explanations.

1: Problem is with Fedora-provided libraries and programs.
2: Computation is buggy, like some older Intel CPUs. (Not helped by the fact that my CPU is also from Intel and not AMD, which I just mistyped as "MAD". LOL)

It's pretty unlikely that it's 2, since the Ubuntu AMD64 Live version doesn't have font issues like Fedora x86-64 Live has. All very confusing though.

Pictures below. Click to see the full-sized version.

After starting up and logging in. Alert people will notice the problem after seeing the full-size image.

gnome tetravex
GNOME Tetravex. It's obviously the case the the unaligned white grid isn't supposed to be there.

time zone strangeness
And the time zone. Unlike Ubuntu Live, it assumes that you system clock is set to your current time zone time instead of UTC/GMT. That's stupid, or at least non-commonsensical for programmers dealing with time. (Note that this can be changed when you install Fedora for real.)

CHL Trademark disclaimer: Some Mozilla icons and logos are present in the logo, as well as Fedora icons. These are trademarks of Moz Corp and Red Hat, respectively. Used with absolutely no permission whatsoever. If anybody from Mozilla or Red Hat comes go see the Terms of Use, over at the left.

Update: How the hell do you use a GUI to get software in Fedora?! The Add/Remove Software seems to be stuck (but not technically hanged). Both Ubuntu and Debian don't have this flaw. Which probably contributes to me liking deb-based systems better.
